Austin TX: Where We Stayed

This last weekend we decided to take a long weekend and go somewhere warm. When your sister lives in one of the best warm cities in the country, it makes the decision easy. We packed up and started the drive to Austin, TX.

This time around Chad and I decided to stay at a hotel in town so we could take advantage of having a pool right outside. I searched for days trying to figure out the best place to stay for a decent rate and I happened upon the Lone Star Court. The pictures online looked great. The place looked to have a Texas charm while still being modern and trendy, so I decided to book it.

Little did I know this place would be one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. The rooms were perfect. The décor was a retro Texas vibe with a full size SMEG fridge, a sliding barn door to the bathroom, colorful woven rugs and a retro couch that I wanted to pack up and take home.

The outdoor space was almost better than the room. A big grassy courtyard, which was perfect because we brought our dog! (Yes, they allow dogs, which makes this place even better). A beautiful stone swimming pool with the coziest lounge chairs. Multiple patios/decks with fire pits. The list goes on guys. The restaurant/ bar area, called The Water Trough, was a stunning wooden barn with amazing drinks, delicious free breakfast every morning (breakfast tacos because Austin, duh), and big garage doors that let in the fresh Texas air.

I would go back to The Lone Star Court tomorrow. And I would lay by the pool with my popsicle cocktail, and I would be happy. Just like I was last weekend, because this place was perfect. GO NOW!
